Snowy English Bintaro – Parents Talk Session : 5 Love Languages
On July 2013, Snowy English Bintaro held Parents Talk session with the special theme : 5 Love Languages ( 5 Bahasa Cinta).
To be happy, Children need to feel loved. But if we speak different love languages, our affection might get lost in translation, affecting the child’s attitude, behavior, and development.
There are 5 Love Languages :
1. Physical Touch : rubbing, hugging
2. Words of Affirmation : supporting words, praises or what they have done well
3. Quality Time : spending quality time and activity together with full attention to them
4. Act of Service : doing helpful tasks for our beloved ones
5. Gift : giving special gifts
Knowing our child primary love language allows them to really feel our love and support in a whole new way; you are speaking their language and telling them that they are OK just as they are when we use and express their love language.
So if we know our partner’s and child’s love language then we could create a warm and loving family, because we have made them feel loved, supported, cared for, and important to us.

Tour de Italiano with Snowy English Bintaro
Hello everybody! We are back! How was your holiday? Where did you spend it with your family? Was it exciting especially for your kids? We hope so! Snowy’s English Bintaro also spent holiday together with all the students.
We held the holiday program for two days on 21st – 22nd June 2013. Now, let’s talk about the first day. We named it “Tour de Italiano”.
Tour de Italiano was a pizza making day, where children had to make their own pizza. We wanted them to have a life time experience. So in the future they will remember it and able to tell it to their family.
All the participants gathered in Snowy’s English Bintaro early in the morning. Before the children went to Pizza Express they had some warm up and short explanation about the activities in the Snowyland. After the explanation, the teacher divided the students into three groups for morning walk.

Finally we arrived at Pizza Express and the manager greeted us. After that, the teachers divided the children into two groups. The first group joined the kitchen tour while the second group make the pizza. They had to take turn doing the activities.
While waiting for the pizza were ready, all the participants did the coloring to get the rewards.
Finally the pizzas were ready but the children had to get the pizza by themselves. They were really excited to enjoy their pizza. Bon Appetite!
After eating their pizzas, it’s time to know the winners for the best coloring and best pizza maker. They were…..
Finally Tour de Italiano finished. The children were very happy to have this experience. Thanks to the Pizza Express crews who helped us to make the best pizza. We really enjoyed our “Tour de Italiano”. Before we went home, let’s have pictures together!!

Tour to the Farm with Snowy English Bintaro
Hello everybody…!! Have you read our holiday program “tour de Italiano” ? now, it’s time to tell you about our second holiday program “tour to the farm”.
In the morning of 22nd of June we were ready to visit the mini farm in BFC Bintaro. This time the children would meet many animals and learn to love the animals and nature more.
At the BFC mini farm, parents and kids gathered at the back yard to hear the instructions. The children were divided into groups with teachers as the leaders. After they heard the explanation, all of the participants walked together to the farm. Once we arrived, the BFC owner Mr. Cuncun guided us to the audio hall to watch a short video about animals that lived in BFC mini farm. He also gave some question based on the video. The one who could answer it would get a souvenir from him.
After we watched the video, the participants were ready to continue the activities. First, we went to rabbit village…the guide informed us how to take care the rabbit like to feed them, and hold the rabbit.
Look! The rabbit is cute, right?
The next destination was porcupine village. There’s a lots of porcupine lived in the aquarium. We also looked at the baby porcupine too. Nut it’s too small to hold. The guide taught us to hold the porcupine in the right way and how to bathe them….
Oh look! The porcupines were swimming and racing in the pool..
The next village that we visited was the turtle village, there were two turtles we could see the giant and the small one. The girl giant turtle was very old little bit unfriendly. The guide said we had to keep distance from her mouth.
We had a chance to brush her shell, bathe her, and dried the shell with the towel. It was very exciting!
That’s not all; we could sit on the giant turtle’s shell! These are some of the picture of our students that had tried to sit on her.
After we experienced the three villages we all gathered and went to the backyard of BFC mini Farm. Mr. Cuncun told us that we would have a game there, the game was catch the rabbit as many as the children could. Wasn’t it fun?!
We weren’t tired yet, after we caught the rabbits, Mr. Cuncun told us to move to the pool, because we wanted to catch the mini lobsters!
Look! The lobsters are many! Let’s catch it! It’s very fun!
Our activities in BFC farm almost finished, after we caught the lobsters we had to take a bath and rest to enjoy the goodies bag from Snowy’s English Bintaro! Finally all the activities were done. Before we go home don’t forget to capture our moment in BFC mini Farm! And got the souvenirs too!
Visit the minimarket with Mr. Brian Taylor

Hello everyone! We are back with our native class activity! This time, Mr. Brian as the native teacher taught us to shop at the minimarket and using English to speak to the minimarket staff. Snowy’s English Bintaro wanted its students to have an experience to shop by themselves, we taught them to be brave, children had to ask for the things that they needed or wanted. So, going to the minimarket was the right choice to develop their life skill.
The minimarket that we wanted to go is near to Snowy’s English Bintaro. We just need to walk from the centre to there. For the shopping activity, each child got the shopping list which contained pictures of the things they should buy. The children also had to bring Rp. 10.000 to pay all the items. Before we all went to the minimarket, Mr. Brian and Mr. Risky gave a short explanation about the shopping steps.
The first step when the children arrived at the minimarket: they had to get the shopping basket then the children had to look at the shopping list paper what things that had to get.
Wow, so many things that we wanted to get!
Second step: after the children took all of the groceries according to the shopping list they had to pay them meanwhile at the cashier, there were Mr. Brian and the minimarket staff waiting them. The children had to speak English with them like “I want to buy this” or “How much are they?”
After the students were finish with the shopping activities they had to back to Snowy’s English Bintaro. Oh! Don’t forget to take a picture together…say cheese!
When we’re back to our center, the children couldn’t wait to enjoy the snack they just bought. Now it’s time for the children to enjoy it together in the class.
Thanks to Mr. Brian teachers and Indomaret’s staff who helped the children experience the shopping activity with lots of fun. See you in the next adventure of our native class 🙂

Show and Tell Event
Snowy English Bintaro is back with a new activity. To improve our students’ English skill we’d like to make a “Show and Tell” event. This activity will be held every first week of the month. So, Snowy English Bintaro will give an opportunity to all children to expand their knowledge about things around them. With the help of parents and teachers, they have to make their own story. For the May “Show and Tell” event, The students already practiced at home or at Snowy. Not only the story, they also have to sing a song related to the theme given.
For the next event, the theme is about their “favorite color.” Each child has to tell a story about color they like the most and explain why do they like it. Not only that, They have to bring things that have specific color like, toys, t-shirt, hat, or even a pillow. Meanwhile, the teachers have to prepare the song about color for their classes. The next show will be performed in May 1 – 7, 2013 at the classes hour without disturbing the class session. Snowy English Bintaro welcomes to all parents who want to watch their children performance.

Let’s Have Fun in Yellow Room
At this time, Snowy English Bintaro wants to introduce some classes that we have. There are five classes like Yellow Room, Blue Room, Purple Room, Green Room, and Red Room. With these colorful classes, Snowy English Bintaro believes these will bring the good mood to the children to do the activity. For this moment, we would like to introduce “Yellow Room.”
In this room, Ms. Inez and Mr. Wawan take in charge to handle the students . With a nice and cheerfully personality, They both always create many interesting activities. Most of the students enjoy their time in Snowy, especially in Yellow Room. Here are the classes that they have with their enthusiastic children.
Level 1 : Nina
Nina is an adorable student who often wears her favorite hat to Snowy. She enjoys coloring and playing computer in Classroom activities. And also, she really likes playing the slide with her teachers. Nina is very talkative and she has a cute way of talking which is very popular in Snowy. Hehehehee..
Level 1 : Farah, Nasya, Christy, Damara, Daffa, Dena
This class is very exciting. The children are very interactive and playful. Dena is a funny girl who likes to laugh and play with her friends. Nasya is our little teacher’s assistant who likes to help out her teacher and friends. Farah is the sweet girl who likes to do art and craft. Christy is the cute girl who likes all things about princess. Daffa is an independent boy who does his work very carefully. Damara is the brave boy who likes to tell stories about himself.
Level 1 : Putri, Andra, Nathan, Marwah, Jojo
In this class, we have Putri who likes to tell stories, Andra who enjoys singing, Nathan who is very funny and cute, Marwah who is very sweet and calm, and Jojo. This class enjoys playing flashcard games. They get very excited when they are playing it. Their favorite flashcard game is the shuffle cards game. Each of them get their turns in shuffling the Snowy Flashcards.
Lizzy – Rey – Malia’s Class
We have studied about garden with Miss Inez. Today, we are going to draw the garden together on the board. We use chairs so we are tall enough to reach the whiteboard. Oh look, Malia is still standing on the chair. Lizzy draws the birds and butterfly. Rey draws a pond with the help from Malia. What a lovely garden.
Level 3 : Kirana, Lala, Matthew, Arfa
It is storybook time, yeay! Today, we are reading about the fish in the sea. We are so excited to read this big book together. We are learning about many types of fish. Kirana likes the long-nose fish, Lala likes the spotty fish, Matthew likes the bee fish, and Arfa likes the pineapple fish. We like all the fish in the sea.
Level 1 : Bill, Kirano, Alif
The kids in this class are very fluent in English. They talk in English all the time. If one speaks Bahasa, the other will remind his friend by saying “Speak English, please”. Very adorable and smart students. They enjoy playing blocks and Snowy figurines. And today, they made fish from old newspapers. We are learning to reuse old stuff for art and crafts.
Level 1 : Michael, Nathan, Dhiyanti
All the happy faces while doing the activity book in the class. In this class, there are Michael, Nathan, and Dhiyanti. Dhiyanti is a sweet girl who likes to color. Nathan is the talkative one who likes fish. Michael, as known as Dede, who is very energetic likes Thomas The Train. They all study and play together in Yellow Room.
Zidane – Regita – Talitha’s Class
Zidane, Regita, and Talitha are the elementary students who study English in Snowy. They like to play Hangman, Stop the bus, and Bingo games for free time inside the class. They are very communicative in English and they are good in learning the English grammar.
Level 2 : Keca, Azka, Indy
Today, we are learning about Snowy is sick by using the flashcards. Keca likes the nurse because nurse helps Snowy to get better. Azka likes the lollipop because it tastes very sweet. Indy chooses Snowy hurts his foot and she wants to help Snowy.
Level 1 : Rasky, Rafael, Putri, Faranikka
The children are very happy today. They are excited to make pancakes. Rafael likes his pancakes with milk and cheese. Rafael doesn’t want any cheese on his pancake, only cheese he said. Putri keeps asking for more cheese while eating the pancake. And faranikka, loves pancake so much she keeps asking for more pancake. At the end, the go home with a full tummy.
Level 1 : Bita, Jasee, Claire, Afa
Bita, Jasee, Claire and Afa just finished making a snake from letter S. Today they are learning about letter S. Afa likes S for socks, Claire likes S for Snowman, Jasee likes S fro Sun, and Bita likes S for Star. They play game with the flashcards and color the big letter S. So fun!

Charity Bazaar from Snowy English Bintaro
In a lovely February, Snowy’s English Bintaro presented its love to all over the world. To raise the students careness to other people, PE Bintaro held a charity event as an annual activity. Together with parents and staffs, we collected our used belongings (still in good condition ) to be sold in charity bazaar. Many things were coming after the charity notification like clothes, books, shoes, bags, toys and many other things.
After more than two weeks collecting the stuff, at 15 – 16 February 2013 PE Bintaro opened the bazzar with many curious customers. The prices are around Rp. 1.000 – Rp. 10.000 from various items. The customers were intrested and crowded the place. The anthusiastic also brought more crowds from the street passengers. Not only an hour all the items were sold and collected more than 1 million rupiah.
All the profits PE Bintaro got were donated to Yayasan Sayap Ibu Bintaro along with others donation from parents. PE Bintaro always visits the place not only to give the charity but also to teach the students about love and careness for each others. Hopefully, next year Snowy English Bintaro will able to give more for one that needed. Thank you very much for all parents, students and staffs for giving their valuable time and things to the charity.
