Dear Parents,

What is special in August? Of course our beloved Indonesia’s birthday. So after celebrating International Children Day, now we are celebrating a big national event. Schools celebrate it on August 17, but Snowy English Bintaro has been celebrating it for a week! The students can see Indonesian flags everyday in Snowy English and they can take them. Maybe it is just a small thing but we love to see them waving Indonesian flag since their role models, in this global age, are none of Indonesian icon. Their role models are Disney Princess and Heroes so we are so happy they experience this celebration week. The next cool thing after free flags is, we keep playing Indonesian folk songs this whole week. We sing them in the class too! Students who couldn’t really sing the songs, after they hear it over and over again in Snowyland, now they can sing Indonesia Raya. Great! How about Baby Snowy students? Oh they love marching around the class while we sing the songs. They also make Indonesian flag. Take a look at their amazing talent:

Okay, I know you’re waiting for the story of the competitions. Yes, we held competitions or known as tujuhbelasan. Was it your favorite event when you were kid? Well, that’s all students’ favorite time. Here are some pictures of our children having fun in our games:

In the picture above, Mr.Herman tied the rope with a pencil at its end, and the participants would insert the pencil to the bottle.

We did almost all games the locals used to do to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day, well, except Panjat Pinang 😀 They all are happy even though we don’t give any prizes, only crowns.

So, dear parents, your children are having big fun times at Snowy English Bintaro. We also encourage you to enrich your children with some basic information about Indonesia. When we are singing National Anthem in Snowy, the teachers encourage them to sing it nicely. We grow their respect to our beautiful nation in fun ways. And their improvements are our satisfaction!
